Celebrating Our Veterans in Sedona Verde Valley

It’s already here…. Fort Verde State Historic Park, the Town of Camp Verde and the American Legion Riders are hosting the 7th annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day event this Saturday at Fort Verde. The American Legion Riders Honor Ride begins in Sedona with kickstands going up at 11:10 am and ends up in Camp Verde at 12:30pm, with the ceremony beginning at 1pm. There will be food and music – the event closes out with the flag lowering ceremony at 3pm. This is a chance to honor all our Veterans and officially Welcome Home our Vietnam Veterans. Thank you Veterans for your sacrifice and service to our country!

Next weekend, April 7th & 8th is our annual History of the Soldier event. (See attached HOTS flyer and schedule and 2018 event calendar with event information for the remainder of the year). Saturday, April 7th is sponsored by Terrie Frankel, a former USO Performer in Vietnam in memory of her sister and USO Performers. Thank you Terrie!! We welcome back our feature presenter Marshall Trimble, Arizona State Historian and Dr. Sam Palmer – presenting on the Battle of Big Dry Wash. This year we welcome a new presenter Doug Hocking conducting two presentations: Cochise & Bascom and the Start of the Apache Wars and a personification of William Emory, Topographic Engineer and the Opening of the Southwest.

We hope you can attend; whether enjoying it as a participant, as a member of the public or as a volunteer. Help spread the word about these events:) If you have any questions or want to volunteer, give us a call. As always, we appreciate each and every one of you and all that you do.
