Menus to please the kids (and the parents!) in Sedona Verde ValleyFinding a kid-friendly restaurant when you’re traveling can be a pain, but Sedona Verde Valley has tons of options for going out with your little ones! We reached out to restaurants across the region to ask what kids- and parents- love about their place. If you’re coming to Sedona Verde Valley with kids, here’s some places to consider:
Indian Gardens MarketThis historic and popular establishment in Oak Creek Canyon just outside of Sedona is a great place to stop for breakfast and lunch with the kids. Sit outside in the patio and enjoy delicious and healthy sandwiches, soup or salads. The whole menu is very tasty but the bacon/brie sandwich and the pastries are sure hits. You can also grab a couple of delicious snacks or souvenirs at the market.
ChocolaTree Organic OasisChocolaTree has long been the haven for children and mothers since their beginning 8 years ago. ChocolaTree serves 100% organic, processed sugar-free, soy-free, gluten-free meals. Kids will enjoy roaming in the garden or eating at the child-sized tables. Unlike other kid’s menus loaded with processed sugar, processed grains, heavy in carbs and starch, ChocolaTree kid’s menu offers fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. The most popular items include fresh fruit platter, banana bread, honey apple granola, Papa’s potato soup, and buckwheat waffles. They also host weekly mom-child teas in ChocolaTree’s Garden Sanctuary.
89Agave Cantina89Agave Cantina is a great kid-friendly option in Sedona if you are looking for a diverse food selection, from the authentic taste of Mexico to the newly added Southwestern items. They offer a kid’s menu with large variety, from macaroni and cheese to carne asada. It is served with fresh grilled corn, French fries and fruit salad with a dessert fruit roll up. Kids will appreciate the fast service while parents will enjoy unique items such as Al pastor Tacos and Duck cheese crisps.
Cork and CatchCork and Catch in Cottonwood will be happy to welcome your family for a pleasant lunch or dinner in Cottonwood. The kid’s menu features a hamburger, shrimp basket, chicken strips and a grilled cheese sandwich. They also have a very tasty pasta Alfredo. The most popular entrees for adults are the Mediterranean Jumbo Sea Scallops and the House Cut Rib Eye Steak. With authentic, family owned recipes, Cork and Catch invites you to indulge in a gourmet dining for the whole family.
Blazin’M RanchThere is no better place to enjoy an Old West experience than at Blazin’M Ranch. Come to the Ranch before dinner to enjoy everything this Frontier town has to offer (see last week’s blog for more details!). The whole family will enjoy the mouth-watering BBQ chicken and ribs chuck wagon supper followed by a toe-tappin, knee-slappin’ hour-long Western stage production by award-winning musicians.
Tavern GrillTavern Grill in Old Towne Cottonwood has a delicious kid’s menu with a choice of burger, quesadilla, tacos, fruit plate or chicken tenders. The menu also comes with a coloring page to keep the little ones entertained. Families also enjoy sharing a Lavosh, a 24″ thin cracker topped with four items of your choice and topped with Havarti cheese. Parents will enjoy signature items such as the artichoke salmon, the prime rib, and the filet trio accompanied with great wine and cocktails. The building itself has an interesting story. Originally built in 1923 as the Rialto Theater, it was the longest running single-screen theater in the United States until December 1998, when a fire completely gutted the building. It only reopened in 2005 as the Tavern Grille.
Hog Wild BBQEstablished in 2006, Hog Wild is the place to go for great ribs, beef brisket and pork. Families will enjoy the Sample Platter, with 1/2 rack of ribs, 1/2 lb. of brisket and 1/2 lb. of pulled pork and 3 sides and buns, it is big enough for a hungry family of 4! Make sure you try the different BBQ sauces provided offered. They also have a “piglet’s” menu with pulled pork sandwich, burger, grilled cheese or chicken tenders.
Mile High GrillThe menu at Mile High Grill has something for everyone. This is a relax place to bring kids and big appetites. With breakfast and lunch served daily, it is the perfect stop for a nice meal in Jerome. Kids will enjoy great staples such as buttermilk pancakes or French toasts for breakfast and chicken tenders, sliders or mac and cheese for lunch. As for the adults, the outstanding Egg Benedicts, the various hand-pressed burgers and the green chili pork are some of the crowd’s favorites. And don’t forget to order their famous Mile High Bloody Marys.
