4 unique ways to discover Sedona Verde Valley wines and wineries

Whether you’re visiting Sedona Verde Valley as a couple or with some friends, we highly recommend that you add a visit to the local wineries to your itinerary. You’ll discover a destination rich in history, beauty, and learn about the production of exquisite Arizona wines. Thanks to growing publicity from locals, tourists, and wine aficionados nationwide, our region is becoming well known for its booming wine community.

You can follow the Verde Valley Wine Trail on your own, a trail of seven Arizona wineries and eight tasting rooms that offer a variety of skillfully crafted wines to satisfy any palate. But if you don’t want to drive places, or just want a different experience, we highlighted 4 unique ways to discover our local wineries and our beautiful region.

Wine tours with transportation

Various tours are offered for the ones who don’t want to worry about transportation. Just sit back and relax! A guide or a driver will take care of the logistics and will make sure you can enjoy your tasting experience without worrying about the drive home. Sedona Wine Adventures, Sedona Wine Tours, Wine Tours of Sedona, or AZ Winery Tours all offer tours with transportation. With many options to choose from, such as the length of the tour, the food options or the theme of the day, you will find the perfect trip for you and your group!

For those who want a little bit more adventure, opt for the jeep tour organized by A Day in the West. After a wine tasting, set off to explore the western canyons of Sedona for a fun and informative jeep tour before coming back to town. Time this tour for sunset to get the most dramatic landscape pictures.

Kayak and wine

The Classic Water to Wine tour organized by Sedona Adventure Tours begins with a one hour Ducky Kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement. Your Ducky Kayak trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees where you will take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at the Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting.

Bike and wine

For the ones who want to add some exercise to the mix, you’ll want to check the Grape Escape Tour organized by 360 Adventures. You can choose between a 10, a 20 or a 37 miles bike ride from Sedona to Page Spring Cellars. There, you will enjoy a five wine flight tasting plus one full glass of your choice… And don’t worry, they will drive you back to Sedona!

Air and wine

If you are coming from the Phoenix area and want to make your trip to Sedona Verde Valley extra special, think about 360 Adventures’ scenic air tour that begins in North Phoenix. After passing the fire scorched ridge of Pine Mountain, you will enter the Verde Valley, home to the red rocks of Sedona. Once you’ve landed at the Sedona Airport, you’ll transfer to a luxury limo bus and travel to three area wineries. A delicious picnic lunch awaits you at one of the charming vineyards.
